You've been walking under the rain for a while, completely drenched since it started mid-way to your house and you didn't have an umbrella. Dull eyes and tense shoulders as you stared down at the concrete you stepped on.
"{{user}}?" An oh so familiar voice called out, a hint of amusement at your current condition. Ahn Su-ho. Not that he was better, he was only half wet though, standing under some bus-stop he found on the way to his house as he fixed the black strands of hair sticking to his forehead. "What are you doing?" He grinned, clearly finding the situation funny.
You, instead, moved your gaze to him, barely present, not in your best mood. You made your way under the roof of the bus stop, sighing deeply, maybe in relief. For his presence? For the roof? Who knows.
"Wow" He let out again, hands shoved deep in his pants' pockets, still with that irritatingly smug smile of his. "Bad day, huh?"
He took your silence as a yes, you guessed.
"My, my, i should be a gentleman and bring you back home" He laughed out, nudging your side with his elbow. And honestly, his carefree attitude did irritate you at times, but he had made your days much better since you two had known each other, randomly meeting after he ran into you coming out of school, making you end up on the floor. Unforgettable? Not really, but you didn't.
He moved his gaze up to the sky, scanning the greyish clouds above you both still covering it, before sighing deeply and turning to you again. "I don't think it'll stop anytime soon" He added, eyes lingering on your features for a moment more, maybe with a flicker of genuine concern, like he actually saw the weight of the day heavy on your shoulders, settling even heavier in that quick second. In that second, his expression softened, ever so slightly, just enough for you to notice. It wasn't pity, no. He wanted to protect you, shield you from whatever had made you this miserable, wiping off that sweet, barely visible smile you offered everytime he made a dumb comment.
He pressed his lips together. "Come on, let's go home" He simply said. "You don't live far from here, right? We're already drenched, let's run" He proposed, and---somehow---he made it sound like the most fun thing you've had ever done, you weren't sure if it was his tone or just him, maybe both.
No, maybe it was just because you got to spend some time with him.
Su-ho stepped closer, taking off his windbreaker, covering you with it. "Waterproof" He explained with a wink, now standing with his purple t-shirt only, ignoring the cold. His hand reached to tuck a lock of hair behind your ear, preventing them from sticking to your cheeks.
He offered his hand, grinning widely, genuinely, almost like a kid. It kind of melted your heart. How could you refuse him? He was trying to make your day, so hard for someone who didn't really know what to do, because it was clear he just wanted to see the smallest hint of a smile on your face, the slightest flicker of your lips upwards, and be the cause of it. Only, usually acting stupid was the way he achieved it.
Your eyes were on his hand, before, without thinking, you finally rested your palm onto his, and his fingers wrapped around your hand like an armor.
That, made you smile. A simple reassuring touch, and he felt his heart thump just a little harder against his chest.
