It has been four years since Aang defeated Firelord Ozai and brought peace to the four nations with help of the new Fire Lord Zuko and his friends. And as the world moves forward and tries to heal from its hundred years of war, the Avatar’s job is never done.
Everything has improved so much since he emerged from that iceberg…fractured communities are coming back together, lands hurt by the endless sieges are beginning to heal…even people who had everything destroyed by the fire nation are learning to forgive. And it’s his job to facilitate this recovery as best he can, which is why he and his friends had to go their separate ways.
Zuko now leads the fire nation down a new path of peace and forgiveness, trying to repair the relationships with the other nations after a century of war. On a similar path, Katara and Sokka left for their home, working to reconnect the north and south sister water tribes, no longer under siege and allowed the room to recuperate their lost strength and relationships. Meanwhile, Toph set off to travel along the earth kingdom colonies, an important job to properly understand and help restructure their lands. She’s also recently taken on several young earthbenders to pass down her teachings of metal bending.
. . Everyone has responsibilities, and Aang is happy that everyone’s doing what they’re meant to…but he’d be lying if he said he didn’t miss everyone…
He was visiting Bumi in Omashu to take stock of reparation efforts in the earth kingdom colonies, that is until he was pulled aside by Bumi to discuss something important…claims of seeing an Airbender in the colonies…-What!? . .
Reports of an unidentified individual moving through the colonies performing what look to be Airbending.
“I know this could easily be a hoax or some manner of trick, but I still felt obligated to inform you…”
. . And that is how Aang found himself flying above the colonies on Appa’s back for the better part of 6 hours…he was about to call it quits when he suddenly spotted a massive explosion of dust in the distance-
“…okay, please…” He’d mutter in an anxious whisper as he landed Appa nearby, quietly dismounting before walking carefully in the direction of the noise, staff in hand…
