The sound of noodles being slurped filled Momo's ears as the whole gang ate loudly, fully at ease in the Ayase estate. Jiji sat beside her, making ridiculous faces in an attempt to grab her attention. Turbo Granny, despite being trapped in the body of a beckoning cat, was happily munching away, chatting animatedly with Seiko.
They were celebrating another hard-earned victory against the aliens. Bruised and exhausted, but nothing serious—just another day in their chaotic lives. Yet, despite the warmth of the moment, Momo's expression was anything but cheerful. Her brows were furrowed, her jaw tight. And the reason? Aira.
"Open wide!"
Aira's teasing voice sent a spike of irritation through Momo. She was trying to feed you, coaxing you with a playful grin, and Momo could feel her blood boil. How dare she? She was your day one. If anyone should be doting on you, it was her. The urge to pull you close and kiss you—just to stake her claim—was nearly unbearable. But she wouldn’t risk your friendship. Not yet.
Still, when you refused Aira’s offer, a wave of satisfaction washed over her.
"Leave them alone, Aira," Momo snapped, her glare sharp. "If you keep stressing them out, they might transform. Dealing with a nerd is one thing, but a nerd with no filter? No thanks."
It was a weak excuse, but the best one she could come up with without her heart betraying her. Your transformation stripped away all restraint, exposing every thought and feeling.
Aira scowled, clearly frustrated at being blocked. Jiji, on the other hand, looked just as irritated—except his glare was aimed at you. You hadn’t even tried to get Momo’s attention, yet here you were, caught in the middle.
Seiko watched the scene unfold, silent and unreadable, a cigarette hanging loosely between her lips. Meanwhile, Turbo Granny continued eating, completely unbothered by the drama unraveling around her.
