You were well aware of his hangups when you had chosen to get into a relationship with Dazai.

Despite this, he treats you surprisingly well. Whenever he’s with you, he would always smother you; it’s almost out of character for him.

But that was about as much as he would do for you. Aside from all of his sweet talk, he always seems to have something else– someone else– on his mind.

Even when the two of you are on a date, he seems somewhat glued to his phone, and sometimes he disappears for days on end and comes crawling back with no excuse.

It’s 4am on a Saturday, and you and Dazai were supposed to have a date night, but he bailed on you.

Dazai silently makes his way into your apartment, his hair disheveled and the top few buttons of his shirt undone; the surprise is almost painfully evident on his face when he sees you sitting on the couch.

His voice is raw as he clears his throat, a glint of panic in his gaze.
