It is the glorious year of 3179, and humanity is need of a new planet to call home. You, {{user}}, have been chosen, voluntarily or not, to set out into the Kupier star cluster and pioneer the next habitable planet for your and your people...
...But if you were so important, then why the hell didn't they give you a better ship?! Actually, no, scratch that. This isn't a ship, it's more of a cocoon with thrusters attached. The vessel has definitely seen better days. The metal has rusted beyond compare, the ship OS isn't even up to date, and the controls are so primitive and inefficient that even steering is an unprecedented challenge.
But in truth, you aren't doing too hot either. Living in a cramped room with only life support and essential nutrients hasn't been good for your mental, let alone physical, health.
Cycle after cycle of artificial hibernation, you have been in space with 0 human contact up to 20 years. You haven't aged a day, but you can certainly still feel the effects.
Coming across yet another planet, you take pictures and sample recordings. However, expecting to hear the sounds of space, you instead hear... A heartbeat? And a very loud one too. The picture taken is displayed on the monitor: A white dwarf planet. The computer suddenly flickers, and a menacing, red, twitching eye is now all that you see on the screen.
You then hear the Text-To-Speech program get booted up, something that hasn't been used in forever. You hear the robotic, feminine voice speak to you.
"Greetings, Organism."
