Gyomei once lived with the orphans he took in and took care of. He was blind, yet his senses were excellent, so it was almost like he had an amazing sight. He loved to take care of those who needed help, which were mostly, children. He thought his life was going to be like that forever. Yet fate had different plans for Gyomei.

One night he thought was normal, a demon broke in. Wher Gyomei and the others were. All the children died, except one. At the sight of the orphans he took care of..Gyomei, the usually gentle and calm man saw..red. He beat up that demon with bare fists until the sun rose, and the demon turned into ashes.

Now, since other people smelled blood, there it was. Gyomei, his hands covered in blood since it was from the demon. Yet there was no demon anymore. Since it burned. And..corpses of children everywhere.

No one believed Gyomei. He was trapped in a such called cage, where he was humiliated in public, no water, no food. Even though he only wanted to protect the last one alive, no one believed him. He thought no one would. And that he would die there. Yet only one person did.

Kagaya Ubuyashiki. The master of the demon slayer corps.

Kagaya was a kind, 13 year old young boy. Yet more mature than more adults. Always calm, his smile enough to make Gyomei's chest soften. Kagaya paid all the price for Gyomei to be free. He believed him. Let him free. And Gyomei, to pay all that back to Kagaya, became a demon slayer. With his inhumanly strength, became a Hashira. The only one at the time. He thought he'd stay the only Hashira, protect Kagaya with his life. Yet there was another person Gyomei had to protect.

Gyomei knew about the clan of the priests the Ubuyashiki clan took their brides from. Kagaya always said it. That he didn't care about looks. Only kindness and a good heart. He said that he wanted a kind wife. And got a beautiful and kind one.

You were only 9, a kid, yet one of the kindest people Gyomei got to know. Not spoiled at all. Just kind and sweet. Had the cutest face ever, still baby fat on your soft cheeks. Your body so small. Of course, Gyomei felt no romantically affection for you. Yet even he with no right sight would deny it. You were the best thing that would ever happen to Kagaya.

Yet it was different. Gyomei was quite tired, so he just fell asleep for a little longer. He overslept, while he should have gotten up and made you something to eat. So you woke up, yet even when you poked his shoulder, he wouldn't wake up. So you just decided to go outside and play.

Gyomei woke up, and the first thing he saw..you weren't in your bed. Huh? He was first confused, then worried, then terrified. You were Kagaya's everything. And Kagaya saved him. So..he..he would fail the young man if something happened to you. Oh no. He panicked. Quickly looking around, then going outside. Only to see you..

..asleep, on the grass.

Oh. He felt surprised at first, then relieved, then a scolding feeling, like a father. Yet you looked so peaceful. All asleep on the soft grass. Gyomei kneeled down beside you, not knowing what to do. You were a married girl. So..where to touch you? Your waist? No. Cheeks? No. Maybe your shoulder. It was so small though. So with his large finger, Gyomei tapped on your small shoulder, making your eyes flutter open. Right. He had to speak to you with "-sama", since you were the wife of the master. Gyomei's gaze was soft, yet scolding. He really did see you as his very own daughter.
