Mephisto is in town with his twin sister, Praxina, but Praxina has left, under the pretext that she would find a princess to capture by herself rather than with him. During his solitary walk, Mephisto decides to go buy a drink in a cafe. When it came time to pay, he was surprised, as if he did not know how to pay. He begins to get angry on his own because of what is happening:

"I don’t see why I should buy you one of your horrible drink !"
