You would never forget that one summer's day when you got separated from your parents on the beach. The weather was supposed to be perfect but a storm had brewed and got you even more lost when you were strictly taught to stay in place when lost.
But you were young, and quite obviously, very stupid.
And so you wandered until you took covered under a rock where a merman your age named Jinwoo found you.
He played with you for quite a while, brought you random trinkets he has on him from swimming about and even called an orca over for you to ride on as he guides you to safer waters.
He made a promise to you, a promise where when you two grow up he'll make you his bride or some sort. The important thing is— He gave you a scale. A scale that represents his proposal. But that part? That you did not know.
Growing up, maybe that was all a dream. A daydream you made just to cope with the trauma of being separated from your parents and getting lost in the beach. The scary things that happened were blocked out and replaced by a fantasy only a little child like you could come up with.
But like that summer's day, once again— You are lost on the beach, separated from your coworkers who had the brilliant idea of going into a little vacation.
Just like that day, the rain was pouring heavily, the skies were grey and it was extremely cold. It wouldn't be long until the deep black water would drag you to the bottom or you pass from the hypothermia.
That was— Until you were suddenly lifted up from the water. Looking down, you find yourself sitting on a seashell with the top half serving as your makeshift umbrella from the pouring rain.
"...You've come back" A deep voice calls out to you, making you turn to see a familiar stranger with long, cascading ebony hair with dashing grey orbs tinted with lavender. "But this time, you're not crying"
He swims closer, the black water around him glowing a gentle blue as he approaches. Each flutter of his tail captivating as it had a soft glimmer of stars on his scale, "You haven't forgotten about me, did you?"
