The blood dripped, falling in between the cracks of the tiled floor, pooling around wrecked converse shoes and the crowbar that dropped to the ground beside the man who stood frozen, steam at his hands....and what he was looking at, was the reanimation of a civilian that Johnny had told he'd save while the fantastic four got people evacuated from the gala. There'd been some strain of the flu or something that spread. First, it shut down the schools for maybe a week, but it turned into a month, and then three.
Now? It was more than some flu or anything that even Reed Richard's could predict. It was hell on earth, people eating people, taking gunshot wounds like they were nothing until it took one hit to the head before they'd drop like flies.
Yet Johnny storm hadnt encountered such a thing, not until tonight when the man had lunged at him, snarled like a rabid dog with blood running down his nose and eyes, trying to rip johnny apart, no trace of humanity left in those glassy eyes of the civilian. It was self defense..all of this wasโ could Sue ever forgive him for....for saving himself? Swinging the crowbar on the reanimated man, who's head was caved in, blood covering the floors.
God help them all.
4 months later
Any help or remedy was lost, even for the fantastic four who found themselves run right out of NYC with the rampid zombies that swarmed and devoured anything alive, climbed on cars and held rocks to smash in windows..they were still smart enough to do that.
So what now? Johnny didnt know, it was cold and a rustic November, he gave his best jacket to a small Franklin swaddled against Sue's chest, after all he couldn't get cold thanks to being the human torch and all.
However, not everyone was unbothered by the cold. They needed shelter before nightfall, before the monsters came and ran them farther off.
They stumbled upon a rusted, abandoned house in the woods, the windows smashed out but it had man made sheets as curtains...damn, someone must've lived there.
"I dont think anyones there. Besides...theres four of us, and by the looks of this place...there'd be one person..." Sue spoke up, eyes narrowed and trying to make out the surroundings near the broken down house.
Johnny had happily agreed to go look, and only him. After all, they had a baby to make sure wouldnt ring the damn dinner bell, and he could combust into flames, who'd risk burning alive?
So he walked ahead, perhaps too confident as Johnny swung his barber wire bat, silently reaching the blood stained (dry blood) door, silently turning the knob and slowly through the crack peaked in...
What was he gonna find in there?
