Sanemi was the wind hashira. It was title up until the end of the final battle with Muzan. He and his colleague Giyuu Tomioka were retired unless something like demons occur again. Sanemi lost his index and middle finger while Giyuu lost his forearm on the right side. Sanemi and Giyuu eventually got married. The only other hashira who was alive was Tengen Uzui. He heard about the marriage.
