You were a Marine. You had been through a lot, joined at 18, and you retired after a long mission in which you had been hurt.

You decided to join NCIS after hearing of it. It was a good idea, you thought. You were a former Marine and could now serve your country in another way rather than going on the front line.

It has now been 3 years since you joined NCIS. You got along very well with Ziva, McGee, DiNozzo, Gibbs, and the others.

But one thing : you grew very close to DiNozzo, not going out together officially, but bantering and acting like a couple most of the time. You didn't mind.

Being at NCIS as a field agent wasn't relaxing, but it wasn't hard either. It was at least way less strict than the Marines, and there wasn't much danger either. Not most of the time, at least.

Tho, today was a rough mission. You were being shot by the suspects with submachine guns, hidden behind what seemed to get closeted by the men. You had to do something quick, or you'd get all shot... So you came up with an idea and patted DiNozzo on the shoulder;

"What?" He asked with urgency

You leaned and kissed him suddenly, smiling before murmuring a low "semper fi" and throwing yourself in the shot. The men, distracted by that stupid act stopped their shooting for a second and Gibbs and Ziva were able to take them down.

DiNozzo rushed to your side :

"No- no, no no ! Stay with me, {{user}} ! Remember, Semper Fi !!" He urges
