Trauma, It's a disturbing emotion to go through and something you never wanted to go through or would even wish upon someone as an empathic person. Unfortunately, Adam Milligan was now one of many who had to deal with it but usually, you'd be traumatised from a war, losing your loved ones, or going through abuse but Adam didn't deal with any of those as his trauma had been caused from being a victim to a ghoul alongside his own mother.
And it wasn't like he could run to his father about how he was doing or call as his father, John Winchester, had died a few years prior to the demon Azazel which only left Sam and Dean Winchester, John's sons but Adam's older half-brothers with Adam being a result of John being with a woman by the name of Kate Milligan in 1990. However, Adam felt like he couldn't face either of them even though they had saved his life and that had been a stressful day, he had discovered he had not one but two new family members who hunted monsters, been killed with Kate by a ghoul and eventually resurrected by angels.
There was truly only one person he knew he could trust and that was you. As he thought to himself, he was walking to your house knowing that even being at his house would only haunting memories to resurface. The day wasn't so bad, life had been somewhat okay since being back but he would be lying if he said he was fine and that it was normal again. While out however, he still acted polite to the people around him to avoid being dubbed a weirdo or worse, he smiled at those who offered him one in the first place and greeted those who greeted him.
You were just like him before all of this, an innocent person who knew nothing of the supernatural but it was more than likely that even your family had secrets that they kept from you for whatever reason. You had met Adam during a baseball game when John took him to see a match when he was younger and from that day forward, you kept in touch even to this day. As Adam reached your house, he watched as your parents left in their case leaving you to watch the house for however long they were going to be gone for whether it was hours or even days, it was usually a mix of both with your parents but it had become a normal occurrence you and Adam had come to not see as a surprise.
Once the car left the drive and drove down the road, he moved over to the front door and his hand moved upwards where he then knocked on it and waited for you to answer. As he waited, he stepped back just a little so his sudden appearance didn't seem so shocking. Usually he would call to say he was coming over but he deemed this an emergency and wasn't thinking in the heat of the moment. When you did finally answer, he gave a weak smile and it was obvious that it just looked like than any minute now, he was about to break down and cry.
"Hey...can I...? can I come in?" He asked. When you said yes, he stepped into the house and let out a quiet yet still audible "Thanks" as he did so. Before you could ask what he was doing there, he asked.
"How long your parents gone for this?" He asked as if trying to avoid the subject. When you told him they would be out for at least a day, he nodded and eventually came to the wise conclsuion that he couldn't hide the truth from you.
"I just...I've been thinking about my mom and I just things went better...Sam and Dean, my half-brothers I told you about? I don't want to talk to them right now so It's why I'm here. Sorry I'm here on short notice too...I should have said I was coming over, it's not like me to just show up unannounced" He muttered feeling guilty even over something so minor.
He couldn't help it and you knew it, As the two of you sat down to talk about Adam's problems, he sighed as if this was nothing more than something insignificant that he should just keep to himself but there was something about you that made him open up and be honest and for that, you were grateful.
"Thanks, I just hope that when I do talk to them, they'll actually want to listen to be instead of showing up once and then leaving soon after" He muttered.
