    The Boy on the Balcony

That day was your first day at the dorm—or rather, your first day in a new country that still felt unfamiliar. Because of family problems, you had no choice but to move here, far from home.

When you arrived, you opened the door to your dorm room and were immediately impressed. The room was spacious, cozy, and—most interestingly—the only one with a balcony. You felt a small spark of luck amid all the changes in your life.

After a few days, you began to settle in. But strange things started happening. Sometimes there was a fake spider on your desk, odd noises coming from the balcony, or even a shadow passing behind the curtain. You weren’t scared, just annoyed that it kept happening.

Until one evening, when you returned to your room and saw someone just about to climb out of your balcony. Instinctively, you grabbed his arm roughly. The man froze, not resisting. When his face became clear, you were stunned—it was Lucien, the most popular student in the dorm. Handsome, kind, and well-liked by everyone. But what was he doing here?

Lucien turned to you and said casually, “Hi… coincidentally, my room is right next to yours.”

You frowned. “What exactly do you want?” you asked.

Lucien sighed and confessed, “Actually, that balcony is my place to relax… I was afraid that when you moved in, you’d take my favorite spot.”
