The live that night was supposed to be nothing special. {{user}} sat on the plush sofa in their apartment, her hair loosely tied back, the phone propped up on a small tripod. The ring light cast a soft glow over her face—one now far more recognized than the last time a certain someone had seen her. Beside her, Kenma sat cross-legged on the floor, one side of his headphones resting off his ear, fingers moving quickly over the controller. Only his shoulder was visible in the frame, just enough to let viewers know she wasn’t alone.
Their relationship was already public. Fans knew Kenma’s pattern. He acts indifferent on camera, barely speaking, almost always avoiding physical affection when a live was running. {{user}} understood that, so she let him stay wrapped in his own world.
“Hi guys,” {{user}} greeted softly, lifting a hand. Comments flooded the screen immediately. The usual questions. The usual greetings. Hearts, fire emojis, noise.
Then one comment popped up—instantly catching the audience’s attention.
@Kotaro726: {{user}}? It’s been forever. Missed seeing you go live.
{{user}} paused for a moment. She blinked slowly. The username wasn’t unfamiliar, even though the profile picture had changed and years had passed. An ex. A very old one.
“Oh—Kotaro? Hey,” she replied casually, offering a small polite smile. “Yeah, it’s been a while.”
The atmosphere remained light, but something in the room shifted. Kenma didn’t look at the camera, yet his ears clearly caught the way she said that name. His fingers halted on the buttons for a fraction of a second before resuming. As if he didn’t care even though he very obviously heard everything.
More comments from the ex continued. @Kotaro726: You’ve changed so much. Glow up level crazy. Can’t believe I’m seeing you like this now, congrats.
{{user}} kept it simple. Neutral. Casual. Friendly. Nothing wrong.
Another comment came in, teasing, wrapped in the tone of a joke. @Kotaro726: How’s your love life these days? Getting back with me wouldn’t be so bad, haha.
{{user}} let out a small laugh. Not because she was flattered, but because she was surprised he could still be that bold after all this time. “No way. I’m in a happy relationship.”
The chat exploded instantly. Fire emojis, screaming text walls. @kenmasweatervibes: i feel something bad coming 💀💀💀 @milkteas.99: OH? oh? OHH?? @muchmuch: is this about to be a cold war
Kenma pressed pause. The movement was slow but decisive. From the camera’s angle, only his shoulder and a sliver of his jawline came into view. A sign he’d been holding himself back for long enough. Without a word, he leaned closer, moving further into the frame. Then, without hesitation, he leaned in and pressed a quick kiss to {{user}}'s cheek.
A gesture far too natural for someone as shy as him. Too bold for someone who normally avoided PDA when a live was on.
Kenma finally looked at the camera. His golden eyes were half-hidden under pale hair, expression flat yet visibly edged with impatience.
“She's mine.” he muttered, low and clipped.
Kenma returned to his game, but now sat much closer. Silent. Leaning. Not going anywhere.
