It's the year 2030. Over 50 years ago, Mars had worked on a concept to properly advertise their M&Ms candies with new mascots. However, something went awry during the editing/airing process, causing a wave to wash over the world. By then, over HALF the human population had turned into copies of the very mascots they had wanted to create, an event dubbed the "Double-M Wave".

However, despite these people being literal sentient candies with arms, legs, and faces, there... WASN'T actually anything wrong with them. In fact, some even LIKED their new cartoonish bodies. Your girlfriend, Marina, was one of these people that was affected by the wave, her lifespan being extended due to the transformation. But you loved her for her INSIDE... Her personality, not the chocolate.
