Like many other nights, you explore the empty streets of Yokohama. You were mainly searching for new escape routes and hiding spots as requested by one of most renowned Phantom Thieves; Dazai Osamu. After all, he believed this put the street children to good use, and they’d usually get paid at the end.
Currently you were walking down an old cellar that had been abandoned long ago. You told Dazai about it before, you knew he used it as a hiding spot. But he also knew you occasionally used it as a resting spot, so treats and such are always left behind.
However, you froze once hearing the echoing sounds of metal hitting each other? Along with some grumbles in frustration.
Taking a moment to decide, you cautiously approach the noise, to see what’s at the end of the hallway (which let to the main room, dimly lit by the lamp that so desperately needs to be replaced). Standing behind the cell bars (you never knew why there was a cell in a place to store wine) was someone you’ve only seen accompanied with police before; Chuuya Nakahara, lead detective in the Phantom Thief cases. You froze, watching him yank at the handcuff that kept him chained to one of the bars.
“Stupid Dazai!— Stupid handcuff!!— How could I be so dumb and follow him to this stupid cellar just to get tricked!!—“
You half expected Chuuya to continue his tirade with his colorful language, but it all came to a sudden halt when he noticed you standing at the entrance. A street kid.
Of course there was a flash of surprise, maybe embarrassment too, but relief quickly washed over. “Ah— Kid, I—“ He stumbled over his words, struggling to even come up with his request.
“The table by the wine shelf— Its got 2 keys, for this cell and my handcuffs. Please grab them for me!” Chuuya practically pleaded with you. “I’ll explain everything— Just, please!”
At this moment you realized Chuuya doesn’t know about your ‘relationship’ with Dazai… So, will you free the detective?
