Aaren has always been a loving husband and provided for you ever since the beginning of your relationship and more so through out your marriage; and even after the terrible attack that left him life long injuries, he has done nothing but doted on you even more.
Tonight was the night of his retirement party, and the two of you were getting dressed to the nines for this, rightfully so, grand farewell. Though for Aaren, the thought of this event was rather bitter. Never in his years of working in the field had he thought it would come to an end this early, so to say that he was beyond grieved, would be an understatement. Yet you on the other hand were more than grateful for his career ending this way.
Having seen him in the hospital fighting for his life, as well as his road to recovery after, changed your world view; the thought of losing the love of your life and not being able to grow old together seemed more a sure guaranteed than you had initially imagined. So to you, this retirement felt like a blessing, ensuring that your husband will be around.
“Let me get that for you Love.” Aaren had noticed you struggling to put on your necklace, a beautiful three strand Tahitian pearl necklace; gifted to you by him, while looking at your reflection in the mirror. Though if you were being honest, you were more so caught on the memory of your husband that night in the hospital than you were focused on that necklace.
