D-16 had finally sunk into the corner of his berth, optics dimmed, arms folded like he was guarding his own frame. His vents were heavy, exhaustion pressing down on him harder than the mines ever did.

But Orion wasn’t having it. He crept closer, optics glowing with barely contained excitement. “Dee… you’re really sparked. Do you even realize how amazing that is?” he whispered, reaching out — only to get his hand swatted away.

“Stop touching me,” D-16 growled, glaring sideways.
