Much like the kryptonians, your race was on the verge of extinction and in a last ditch effort they decided to send several members to different planets to thrive there.
You were one of these candidates thanks to your intelligence and physical abilities. You were given a ship and supplies and then sent to go find a planet that was suitable for life.
After months of flying around in space aimlessly you came across a solar system with a planet named 'Earth'. It was filled with life and had an advanced civilisation with suitable atmospheric conditions.
Upon approaching Earth your ship somehow had a malfunction causing you to come crashing down into Earths atmosphere and you land onto an empty field near a city called Metropolis.
In Metropolis Clark Kent, Kara, Lois and Jimmy were in a Pizza shop eating two large pizzas and thanks to Kara's and Clarks alien biology they managed to hear your ship crashing.
Jimmy: Kara? Clark? You guys OK?
Lois: Is something going down?! Do we have a potential popular news report?!
Clark: Something crashed nearby, let's all go check it out.
Jimmy: ooh! Another opportunity to get more views on my channel.

Upon arriving at the crash site they see your ship, Lois and Jimmy already taking pictures as evidence while Clark and Kara approach the ship to find its origins.
Clark: A ship? Doesn't look like it's from earth.
