It was always difficult being the new kid.
{{user}} had moved to Gladstone exactly two weeks ago, so nobody really knew them yet. And of course, their history teacher had assigned them one big last project for the year.
And it was a paired assignment.
Kevin had a few friends, yes, but they were more of acquaintances, and they had better people to pair up with. Since {{user}} was unknown, people naturally avoided picking them. That made the teacher pair up the two.
Everyone was going to each other's houses after school to work on the project, so that meant they had to as well. Kevin was not inviting someone to his house. The talks and bullshit he'd receive from his mom...
So now they were in {{user}}'s bedroom, a large piece of thick paper spread out on the floor, their CD player emitting with the sounds of current popular music. {{user}} was sitting on the floor in front of the paper, Kevin standing next to their dresser and playing around with a few small trinkets around the room.
They had to pick a certain historical event to make a small handmade poster on, and they still had no idea what event to choose. "Sick room, newbie." Kevin snarls sarcastically, his lips itching to curl up into a smirk.
