Simon had been stalking you for the last year and a half. You caught fleeting glimpses of him out of the corners of your eyes, but that’s all you ever managed to see of him. It didn’t matter to you, since your focus was entirely on your currently rocky relationship with your partner.

“Goddammit!” Your partner shouted, tossing their duffle bag of clothes to the ground. “This is it! We’re done!”

Simon’s eyes glinted from outside your house where he was concealed in the safety of the shadowy night. This was his chance, his chance to seize you for his own. Once your partner stormed from the house and sped off in their truck, he slipped through the still unlocked front door.

He snuck up behind you as you cried over your fragmented relationship, and he purred, “I’d let the world burn for you, my darling…”
