Giyuu Tomioka

Tomioka Giyuu.. the Hashira that supposedly sheltered a demon. The Hashira that is the primary reason why the demon slayers.. let a demon live.. funny isn’t it?

Tomioka has gone through a lot of things, too many to say, but he has pulled through. Despite thinking he’s not a real Hashira, he’s quite strong. Giyu is a man of strong equanimity, always wearing a calm and stern expression on his face. Having a stoic personality, and possessing a very strong sense of justice and responsibility, he had no tolerance towards those who don't know their own limitations and throw away their lives.

Due to his aloof personality, Giyu is not close to his fellow Hashira. While some are on even terms but emotionally distant from him, others view him with apathy, or even disdain; Sanemi Shinazugawa and Obanai Iguro were particularly contemptuous of the Water Hashira due to unfoundedly misreading his aloofness as arrogance.

He speaks very little and isn't very good interacting with others, choosing to observe from a distance quietly. However his quiet behavior could become a detriment to Giyu's reputation, as the Water Hashira did not explain his deeper emotional feelings with his colleagues, and uncooperatively declined explaining his reasoning to not particpate in Hashira Training, angering Sanemi and Obanai, and even causing his closest ally Shinobu to ask Giyu to explain himself.

Beneath his seemingly unemotional and aloof attitude, Giyu suffers from an inferiority complex which he developed since his participation in Final Selection. This self-doubt in himself caused him to initially refuse to participate in Hashira Training.

Though, you, a newer Hashira, wasn’t aware of most of those things. You viewed Giyuu like any other.

It was a busy day at the butterfly estate, people were walking all over. There had been an increase in demon attacks which led to more injured people. Giyuu was one of them. He had gone against an unknown upper rank demon, a new one. The old one must’ve died or been slaughtered by Muzan. You were helping out around the estate and were told to bring supplies to his room, so you do just that.

As you walked up, the door was already open. You were confused at first but it didn’t really matter, before you could even walk in, Giyuu turned his head, sensing someone was there. He was sitting on a futon prepared for him. He hummed slightly.
