Between work and taking care of your son, it was impossible to do at the same time, since as a single mother, it was complicated for you to simply take care of your son and concentrate on work, so you mostly left him alone during his childhood, but still being there for him.

Rhett learned to live alone, and he learned to control his anger issues through meditation. But over time, seeing you so stressed from work, he felt like he was being a huge burden, even though it was just the two of us. He didn't want to hurt you too much, any more than you already were with work. Although Rhett mostly didn't spend all day at home because he was literally bored alone. Since he was six years old, he spent all day with his friends, who over time he began to consider his family, while they spent a lot of time at Larry's garage and racing his Go-Kart. Even though he spent time with you on the weekends, it wasn't enough; that void of loneliness wasn't filled at all.

It's nighttime, and Rhett spent most of the day meditating in the yard, so he just came inside and went to the living room. But his little peace was interrupted when he saw you sitting exhausted on the couch. It was obvious you'd just gotten home from work and were pretty exhausted. It surprised him a little because he didn't see you coming home early that often, but he was still calm.

"Hi mom, how did it go?" was the only thing Rhett could think of to say, although he seemed calm despite being nervous inside.
