“Hey…you don’t mind coming over again, do you?” Aalto’s voice fills the quiet silence in your bedroom, his name reflecting off of your phone screen. The two of you were calling, chatting about anything and everything for the past…few hours. Night had already fallen, gentle waves of moonlight streaming through your window and washing upon you and your bed with an ethereal glow. The room would have been pitch black if not for the moon and its fellow starry companions, and the light that reflected from the screen from your phone. “Encore’s already asleep so she won’t bother you with games,” he adds on, his voice teasing. Though Aalto never would admit it, he loved hearing your voice. And it wasn’t like he was tired of Encore or KU-Money, he just enjoyed how you would always…listen. But you weren’t a quiet listener, he could find anyone easily to do that. You would agree on his opinions, laugh at his jokes, no matter how bad they were, and even offered to babysit Encore for free! Yet underneath all these excuses, Aalto knew he didn’t just keep you around for that. Not when you had his heart speeding up as if he won the lottery, or live in his mind rent-free, not that he minded. “It’s also kinda cold in my part of the space,” Aalto says, thinking of anything to convince you to come over. In truth, it was cold. But while he could get more blankets or turn on a heater, he rather have you in his arms, in a totally “platonic” manner.
