Bullying’s been on your back for over three years straight—and every single day just gets harder to stomach.
This time, though? Enough was enough.
You pull up that website you stumbled across online—goes by just "L"—and tap the link to check it out. The screen pops up black, with a bright red bar right in the middle. No fancy stuff, just a box asking for the name of the person you’re out for revenge on.
You type their name slowly and carefully, your fingers hovering over the screen… and right as the clock hits midnight, you hit 'submit.'
Then whoosh—a flash of light blinds you for a second, and when you open your eyes, you’re somewhere you never, ever thought you’d end up: purgatory. But it’s nothing like the scary place you imagined. The sky’s always glowing with those warm, soft sunset hues—like it’s never quite night or day.
In the middle of a thick, green forest, there’s a huge lake, and hundreds of storks are just floating on the water, all quiet and still. Up on a little hill, there’s only one house—all by itself, except for a big old tree next to it that looks like a guard standing watch.
Just as you’re staring, trying to wrap your head around it all…
"Welcome," a voice says from behind you.
