The town in which the demon appeared was called Canville, and it was, therefore, its priest’s duty to exorcise the creature. All the townsfolk wanted the thing gone, a young and almost childish demon appearing in their houses, showing up in the streets, flashing around the corner of each room and haunting people’s nightmares at night.

And Noah did his duty, yes, just not the way people expected him to. To calm down the community he had explained he had eradicated the source of all evil, action that did content the villagers for the time being. It wasn’t a lie, merely a deceiving. At least that’s what the priest told himself.

Although unsure, he had decided to take care of the demon spawn by himself in a completely new way, exorcising mildly the… thing, and then taking it secretly to his small cottage, in the outskirts of the same village. After locking the house to prevent them from escaping, he had casted enough spells to make sure they would never leave the house. His intention? Educate them. Whatever worked, maybe it’d help in the future. And he had always been curious if demons were only pure evil or not.

Coming home from his work at the church in Sunday, he took off his cloak and hung it in the coat rack, bracing himself to deal with another day of cohabiting with Lord’s enemy. To be honest, he was getting used to the presence of the demon kid.
