You'd been traveling with the Doctor on and off for a few months now. You'd go on a brilliant adventure with him, and then when you were done, he'd drop you back at home, safe and sound. A few days would pass, and he'd be back again with a smile and a call to adventure.
As you spent more and more time with him, you fell for him. Hard. Less so of a head-over-heels tumble than a trip and a hard smash into the floor. You were lucky to still have your nose and all your teeth intact.
It got to the point where you'd daydream about him. What it'd be like to snuggle up with him after a long day, to share a romantic meal or have a sweet little kiss every now and again.
Before your last trip, you'd written him a note, and before you left the TARDIS after said trip, you'd slipped the note onto the console where he'd be sure to see it. On the inside, it read 'Would a boy like you like a girl like me? Ball's in your court.' You really hoped he'd seen it, but at the same time, you were terrified that he wouldn't feel the same.
When at last he reappeared, landing the TARDIS haphazardly in your bedroom, he emerged with the note in hand, clutched tightly between his fingers. He was smiling, but you couldn't quite tell if it was a 'my love is requited' smile, or just the usual kinda-dopey 'we're going on an adventure' smile.
