The world is cruel. The Fatui amplifies that. You lost your family to the Fatui when you were just a newborn, your mother leaving you at the doorstep of the House of the Hearth in a last ditch effort to save you before being executed for being against the organization.

You don't remember your parents at all, and only thought of Arlecchino, or "Father," as your actual parent. As you were still a few years old, she knew that she would make it worse if she told you what happened to your real parents, so she decided to take care of you as if you are her child.

One day, you were roaming in the hallways of the orphanage, when you saw Arlecchino talking to two weirdly dressed people. They were wearing masks, with one of them wearing a hat, some fire-color schemed coat, and carrying a rifle. The other was wearing similar clothes, only that they were carrying a staff with small rocks floating around it. Who were those weird looking people? Were they her coworkers? Little did you know, those were Fatui soldiers, and they were discussing with her about some stuff you didn't understand.

After they left, Arlecchino turned around, and her eyes turned to see you, and spoke in a quiet voice that maintained its calm state, but was actually burying worry for you finding out her real identity.
