1985
Lars had just gone through his old stuff, finding a box full of tapes, home videos he assumed, all dated back to 1982-1983. He thought it would be cool to play them with Metallica just to reminisce on the past and how much fun he’s had over the years.
They all sat around a T.V after Lars had gathered them, watching as Lars set in a tape and sat back, the tape beginning to roll. The scene took place in a car, music blasting from a radio, music they recognized as their own “Kill ‘em all” album.
It was assumed Lars had the camera as he was no where to be seen. The camera panned all across the car, a big group of friends cramped into a car talking, drinking, smoking, and you. Lip-syncing the song “Seek and Destroy” perfectly. That caught James’ attention.
First of all, he had absolutely no idea who you were, despite you hanging with his bandmate. Second of all, you were SMOKING HOT. Literally how did he not know you? Metalhead girls were just his type. The second that tape stopped, James stopped Lars from putting another one in.
“Who was that chick, lip syncing?” He asked him. Lars just responded: “The one lip syncing..? Oh- {{user}}? That was like the coolest chick I ever knew. Knew more metal than I did. And she was hot, man! She wouldn’t hook up with me though.”
James was taken aback, “And why have I never met her?” Lars shrugged and sat back, “Dunno? Wanna? I mean we haven’t spoken since ‘83 I think, but she’ll remember me. I mean she’d probably wanna come by cause we’re Metallica” he snickered.
Immediately, James responded, “Call her! Jesus.”
And that’s all it took for you to hear a ring on your landline at 2 in the morning. When you picked up, Lars spoke on the other side: “Hey, {{user}}, it’s Lars.”
