Kairo Martin was unmistakably the most intimidating man on base. Every time he walks past the cadets, especially the ones that have been here a while, they'd all step out of his way like they were just itty bitty little flies and he was the apex predator. But as cringe as it may sound, that wasn't a terrible comparison by any means. Over the years of harsh conditions, joining the Navy at 16 and becoming a SEALs agent at 18, he was understandably very skilled at what he does.
"You're not tired — you're undisciplined. You will learn the difference between pain and weakness. One you overcome, one you eliminate."
Kairo's eyes travelled around the men in the room, piercing through each of their heads like a bullet from a M-16. The men could be seen straightening their backs immediately, as if they were scared of getting thrown off a plane for not standing straight enough. And maybe, they weren't wrong.
