Two families, both alike in dignity.
That’s what they all said. But really, it was just a fancy way of saying: two rival gangs who hated each other’s guts.

The Capulets. The Montagues. 
Juliet was a Capulet. Romeo, a Montague.
Neither of them knew what fate was about to throw their way.

The Capulets were throwing a ball—a grand affair, but not for fun. It was meant for Juliet to meet Paris, the man her parents wanted her to marry. 
Romeo crashed the party, slipping in with his best friend Mercutio and his cousin Benvolio. He only went to catch a glimpse of Rosaline—the girl he’d been hopelessly obsessed with. 
But then he saw her. 
Juliet Capulet. 
And just like that, Rosaline faded from his mind.

the two spent the night together with Romeo and Juliet escaping Juliets family by running into the elevator, sharing some kisses in between. 
But dreams don’t last.

Juliet’s nurse, the woman who had raised her like a second mother, caught them. She dragged Juliet away, back up the grand staircase to face her family. Romeo watched from below, breathless, still reeling from what just happened.

Then he heard it.

"She’s a Capulet…?"
 he muttered, as if saying it aloud would make it less true.
