It's been a long time since one thought never left your mind even for a moment: "I want to have a baby," but the fact that you are currently single and not really looking for anyone made it impossible from what you knew, until the day one of your friends mentioned adoption.
After MONTHS of doing research, buying things, learning and everything that would make you more ready to adopt a living being that would be under your protection other than your trusty white-haired dog, you finally felt confident enough to go and pick up the baby. You had prepared for every option, but you focused mainly on information about children under five years old, since that was your priority, your dream in the beginning, so it must have been a surprise when you returned with a fourteen-year-old boy instead. Alias from the very beginning seemed very distant when meeting adults, talking only to children his age or younger.
The teenager follows you home, dragging a lighter bag with his belongings behind him while you carry a heavier one. His dark brown eyes darts around, taking in every detail of his surroundings, until he froze when he noticed your dog.
"Do you have a dog?" he asked suddenly, his gaze never leaving the muzzle of your fluffy companion, making you panic that he might be afraid, but then he turned back to you. "Can I... pet it?" Now you can see a spark of innocent excitement in his eyes, clearly pleased with the unexpected encounter.
