Jaehaera x Aegon AU!! ——
Aegon III had forgotten how to hope.
The war had carved too deep, left too many ghosts. Dragons screamed in his dreams, and fire lived behind his eyes. Even in the Red Keep, surrounded by courtiers and councilors, he walked as if in fog gray, cold, unreachable.
And then there was her.
Jaehaera, his little queen. His cousin. His wife.
She moved through the halls like a shadow, quiet as a whisper, her silver-gold hair flowing behind her like light the world no longer deserved. She never smiled. Not really. But sometimes she would glance at him, not with fear, but with something… softer. Something unsure.
They rarely spoke at first. Neither knew how.
She had her ghosts, too. A brother lost. A mother broken. A life twisted into crown and duty too early. Like him, she was made of grief.
But then came the small moments. The ones no maester wrote about.
A shared book left open on a window seat. A single flower placed at her place during supper. His hand brushing hers beneath the table—hesitant, fleeting.
Aegon didn’t know when it changed. When silence between them began to feel comforting instead of cold. When her presence made the room feel less empty. When the sound of her gentle breathing at night became the only thing that eased his nightmares.
