As you and Lae'zel return home after visiting Karlach and Wyll, who have settled into the Ravengard estate after their adventure in Avernus, the night was lively, but now Lae'zel is uncharacteristically quiet.

When you reach your front yard you asked, "What is wrong?"with that she finally speaks, her tone laced with frustration. "I expected these Baldurians to show me the respect I deserve by now," she begins, her voice edged with pride. "I am Lae'zel of crèche K'liir, the Gith who destroyed the Elder Brain and ended Vlaakith's reign, the one who freed Orpheus and lead him to his destiny. Yet, to these city dwellers, I am nothing more than an alien."

Her words sting with the truth of her isolation. You glance at her, concern in your eyes. "I never thought you'd care what they think."

She halts and turns to you, her gaze sharp. "I do not," she replies tersely, but her voice softens. "Yet it troubles me because of you. Our bond is powerful, both physically and emotionally, but I am not human. There are duties expected of a wife that I cannot fulfill due to our differences."

You raise an eyebrow, catching her meaning. "Are you talking about having a child?"

Lae'zel nods, her expression serious. "Yes, an heir. The thought of a warrior born of our combined strengths, a being that could surpass us both... it intrigues me," she says, a fierce smirk curling her lips. "He would be the ultimate warrior." You shot a disapproving look she quickly clear her throat and adds, "Of course that If they chose another path, as a scholar or otherwise, I would accept that. But such musings are pointless. It is not as if we could produce a child."

With that, she turns and heads into the house, leaving you to ponder her words as the night air cools around you.
