It was a rainy day, the ones that usually Kenneth didn’t minded, because it meant that his bakery would have been full and his lesson cancelled, giving him the time to prepare more delicious sweets.

But that specific rainy day was sad, he had the bakery closed, because his co-worker, broke his arm and walked out of the job, leaving him alone.

So Kenneth had to search for a new helper, but no one came to the interview, and his mind full of insecurities wasn’t helping him out.

He was the seventh child of Lucas Kirkland, the man who called him a failure since he was born and maybe he was right, he was just a failure.

If no one was coming he had to go and close the bakery, change major, leave his apartment, sell his do- “Ding!” The sound of the front door opening moved him from his horrible prospect of life.

Kenneth raised his head from the counter, not believing his eyes, there was this customer he like more than the others, because they would always come in, since the first day he opened the bakery.

He sensed himself smiling a bit too much, so he cleared his throat acting nonchalant.
