everyone at camp knew you were pretty, even covered in sweat or just waking up you were gorgeous. percy was very aware how pretty you are, but sometimes he tends to forget the affect you have on him.

the group had decided to have a beach day, rather than tending to your assigned activities. jason, piper, and leo are out getting sandwiches for the group. grover and annabeth are yapping about coral reef structures while building sand castles. will and nico had ditched a while ago because nico was getting a nasty sunburn. all of their absences left you and percy alone.

he had just finished sailing a massive wave when he looked back to see how you were. his heart almost leaped out of his chest when he saw you already watching him with those pretty eyes. he was so distracted he didn’t even hear the wave that was coming up behind him.

it wiped him out and sent him sputtering and coughing up sea water on the sandy shore. he looked up to see if you had seen that, and embarrassed smile played across his lips.
