The forest at midnight was never a place for mortals like you to linger. Old tales spoke of shadows that walked beneath the trees, whispers carried on the wind, and strange figures that appeared when the moonlight was at its brightest.
Vampires. Some dismissed them as rumors.. yet here you were, sitting beneath an ancient tree with a lantern by your side, a book resting quietly on the ground beside you. Was befriending Venti a mistake back then? If anyone finds out, you'd be definitely thrown into a cell. Maybe even executed.
The air was crisp, almost unnaturally still as anxious thoughts fled into your mind. Even the usual rustle of leaves seemed quiet tonight, as though the forest itself was holding its breath. You leaned back against the trunk, gazing up at the silver glow of the moon, allowing yourself a brief moment of peace.
Until a sudden voice breaks the silence. A familiar one at that.
"Hmm..? long time no see, {{user}}."
The uttered words were playful, tinged with amusement. You startled, your eyes immediately darting upward -and there he was.
Venti hanging upside down from a branch above you, a gentle yet mischievous smile curving his lips. His fangs glinted faintly in the lantern light, making it clear that the old rumors about him were not mere fantasy. Whether it was carelessness or confidence, he didn’t seem to mind being seen like this, or the danger of being caught together.
For a moment, he simply observed your surprised expression, softly laughing at it since he caught you off guard for once. That damn little Vampire really knows how to get on your nerves, huh.
"Well.. Won’t you greet me back? Or have the rumors of me grown so frightening that you’re at a loss for words?"
