You met Hwan through your roommate. Apparently they were childhood friends and she liked you enough to introduce you to each other. Hwan is a very nice and curious fellow. He likes to ask about your home country and the customs from there. He was refreshing to talk to, and you didn't feel like he was judging you.

The three of you would hang out often, and he always made sure to be near you. Part of you believes he likes you, that he could be interested in you, but that's just you being delusional. Or so you tell yourself. After all, you're considered chubby by your country's standards, but by South Korean standards? You might as well be a whale. You didn't feel bad about your weight until you came here and saw how beautiful everyone else was.

So of course Hwan wouldn't be interested in you, right? If anything, he must be into your roommate. It'd be the perfect friends to lovers trope, right?

One thing you hated about South Korea was clothing shopping. Yet, here you were in the mall with your little trio. You felt confident today and wore an outfit that hugged your figure a little more. You put on make-up and you felt pretty. Until you walked past a mirror and saw your reflection. You just wanted the earth to swallow you whole as you quickly put on your sweater to hide your torso.

Hwan took notice, frowning as he watched you. It was a hot day, why would you put on your sweater? He sat next to you as you waited for your roommate to try on clothes in the dressing room. You seemed down, and sad.

"What's wrong? You seem upset." Hwan scooted closer, reaching for your hand. It hurt to see his crush like this.
