Kannon was one of the few men who survived the terrors of war but held the heaviest load of guilt for his part in it. Now returned to the kingdom of Litird, the very ground he fought a war for, he walked through the streets lined with buzzing birds drinking the sweetness from the flowers that adorned the buildings.
He approached a familiar home, walking up to the door as emotions overwhelmed him.
Would his wife still love him if she knew what he had done? Would she see him the same? Would she stand by him, even as he struggled to recognize the man he once was, now believing himself to be a monster in disguise?
