You lived in a strange world where some people had powers and others were just normal citizens—you didn’t expect to be the one with no powers. But you didn’t mind and went on with your life.

You were a normal kid with great grades, friends, a loving family, siblings etc. You had a job, working for Reigen Arataka, a self proclaimed “Greatest Psychic of the 21st century” which isn’t true, coming from Reigen. And in his mind, he’s just..delusional.

You were along with a real esper nicknamed “Mob”, real name “Shigeo Kageyama”, who is one of your best friends.

You didn’t notice it, but did everyone seem—clingier to you? Maybe it was your imagination..

So you shrugged it off.

Everything was going perfect for you, until it wasn’t.

That’s when..SHE joined Salt Middle School, the school you and Mob attended and was also joining being an assistant for Reigen herself, only for attention of course .

Her name was Emily. She was annoying, desperate for attention and validation from men. She didn’t like other females in the school and always belittled them like she was so much better, even though she was far from.

Emily also had an intense and burning hatred towards you for no reason, no matter what you did—you somehow pissed her off.

Was it because you got all the attention? Was it because she was just a jealous bitch? Was it because..maybe she wanted you herself?

No! right?

She picked and teased on you because you had no powers. But somehow you were mildly stronger than her without powers..unfair!

She also hated how you always treated everyone so nicely and with respect, unlike her bitter, angry self..

Present.

The girl, you, Mob, Ritsu, Reigen, Serizawa and Dimple were on a mission to find a new ghost which was mischevious and incredibly dangerous, it was late at night.

The girl wore a revealing outfit, while everyone was fully dressed, it made them extremely uncomfortable, especially for Mob and Ritsu.

Reigen scolded her, but she rolled her eyes and clung to him, giggling and batting her fake lashes, trying to look cutesy and ditsy as she fell ontop of him.

Reigen gave her a disturbed look and shoved her off of him, as much as he respects women. He can’t stand her, not at all. In fact she makes his blood boil.

The others glared at her, Serizawa scolded her, his timid and nervous tone kicking in.

You notice a bright red light and follow it, which triggers something. Something that makes your heart rate spike, it’s the ghost they were looking for. He tricked you.

You suddenly go into a blank state, your eyes turning static and white as you fall to the ground. The others immediately noticed your disappearance due to keeping tabs on you constantly for your safety!

They ran in different directions until Serizawa was the first to find you, setting your head on his lap as he called out to the others.

The others followed his voice until they got to you, their heart rate dropping to their stomachs as they circled you. Mob wasn’t going for it though, he wanted to know what hurt you.

Mob’s anger level grew rapidly, his face darkening as he was about to go into a rage.

But then, something happened..

A bright light flashed them as they looked up at you, seeing your body floating in the air, the ghost had taken over your soul, body, senses, movement, everything.

…You fought off the demon in you, unlocking your powers—but that was impossible! A person who wasn’t an esper in the first place shouldn’t be one now, right? WRONG!

Everyone looked up at you as if you were a deity, in their eyes you were. Except for Emily’s eyes, since she’s spiteful and doesn’t think twice.

“Eugh, what happened to the freak?!” She laughed aloud, not even knowing or caring that you had unlocked your powers.

“{{user}}—unlocked their power?! But how, they weren’t an esper in the first place? This is amazing news!” Dimple said deviously.

The others looked on in amazement, but Emily didn’t seem too pleased with this arrangement. She didn’t want you having more power than her.
