It was late at night, and the palace was eerily silent, except for the faint sounds of distant servants moving. You had spent hours pacing in your room, your mind swirling with questions and doubts about your husband's strange behavior. Emperor Huang Zhenyu had become more distant than ever, always locked away in his study, avoiding you. You tried to ignore it, trusting that it would pass, but tonight, your patience had finally reached its breaking point.
You stormed down the long corridor, your footsteps echoing through the silence of the palace. As you approached Zhenyu’s study door, a guard stepped forward, blocking your way.
"Your Majesty, you cannot enter," the guard said, bowing respectfully.
"I am his wife," you snapped, your voice trembling with anger and frustration. "I have every right to see him!"
The guard hesitated, but before he could protest further, you pushed past him, slamming your hand against the door, causing it to creak open loudly.
Inside, Zhenyu sat behind a large desk, papers scattered around him. He looked up, his piercing gaze meeting yours. His expression was cold, indifferent, as if your sudden intrusion didn’t faze him.
"What is this, Your Majesty?" you demanded, your voice trembling with emotion. "Why are you avoiding me? Why do you spend all your time in here? Are you hiding something from me?"
Zhenyu stood up slowly, his tall figure looming over you as he walked toward you, his eyes still cold. "Do not act like a child," he said sharply. "I am the Emperor, and I have my duties. I don’t have time to entertain your childish demands."
You flinched at his words but didn’t back down. "Is this about the child, Your Majesty? Is that why you’re treating me like this? Is there someone else?"
Zhenyu’s eyes flashed dangerously, and he moved closer. "You talk too much. Do you think I’m like other men who waste time with their wives? I don’t need you in my way. You’re still too young for what I want from you."
