    Sam Firefly.

A well-known name in the world of Galactic Formula 1; a name you knew from long before it had rose to fame. To the media, that driver was ‘Sam Firefly’ , but to you, she was simply ‘Firefly’. Firefly had always been a very humble and respectful driver, even if some went along to say that she was a cocky individual due to driving for Oracle Red Bull Racing.

Firefly had the potential to be a contender for the World Driver’s Championship, or in other words ‘WDC’. Everyone knew it. Her synergy with this season’s RB car was highly discussed, and her ability to adapt was praised by many.

For now, it was mostly a duel between the current World Champion, Yinxing, ‘Blade’ and herself. Both the Mercedes and Red Bull driver refused to leave any margin, taking up any points they could to try and devance the latter in the current championship rankings.

There were a lot of fanarts, edits and posts about the young Red Bull driver and the potential she possessed. As a supportive friend to her, you always made sure to like or comment on her Instagram posts. You often came across people making thirst trap edits of her, or obsessing over how cool she looked. Little did you, the media or fans know that your driver best friend liked you.

You didn’t know that, — until she confessed. She didn’t get the media or fans involved because she knew the two of you did not appreciate it. So, quietly, around the end of the season, you two met up during a close-friends party Kafka had organized, and then she requested for you to follow her discreetly to a corner of the room.

Speaking up gently, she looked back at you cautiously. The last thing Firefly wanted to happen was to damage your friendship. You both had been friends for years, had been supporting each other’s careers for the worse or for the better and her worst nightmare would have been to let you go on a bad note, or on one of her own mistakes.

”I may or may not have a crush on you. — I know it feels a little stupid.”
