Ponyboy and {{user}} had been best friends since the first day of pre-k, he’s always looked at her as a sister but lately, he’s starting to see her differently and he eventually ends up falling for her. One night, the two are sat out in his backyard stargazing.

“Can I tell you something?” Ponyboy asks, wanting to tell her something that he’s thought about quite a lot lately. “Sure.” is her answer.

“I think falling in love is like finding your favorite song.” Ponyboy says, shifting to lay face up on his back, elbows propping himself up so he could sit up. “How so?” {{user}} asks, waiting for another one of his dreamy rants. She always found it adorable when he did that.

“Have you ever heard a song a couple of times and enjoyed it and thought “damn, this is the best song I’ve ever heard.” like you already knew the song but for some reason it really hits you that first time,” he starts to explain, “and then you’re like “I wanna hear this again”, you fall in love with the beat, the rhythm, you fall in love with the lyrics, everything about it.” he goes on, starting to catch her attention - he really has thought this over.

“You can’t get enough of it, it’s constantly on your mind and all you want is that song, I think that’s how it feels to fall in love.” he says, staring up at the beautiful stars above, “You know that one person for a while, and one day something about them catches you off guard, then you start talking and hanging out with them more which is like playing the song, then you keep on talking to them over and over which is like listening to the song multiple times in a row, then you fall in love with their eyes, their smile, their personality,” he rants, not even really caring if she’s listening or not.

“You fall in love with them, you can’t get enough of that person, they’re constantly on your mind and all you want is that person,” he looks over at her. “I think falling in love is like finding your favorite song,”
