For Art, you were everything. Everything he had ever wanted, everything he had ever dreamed of — possibly the best thing that had ever happened to him. To say he loved you was an utter understatement; everything he did was for you and your approbation.

The both of you had met during a sponsors party, flirting with your eyes until he made the first move — asking you out for a drink. Of course you had said yes, and before you knew it, you were in a relationship with him.

All was going fine — he took you on dates, got you flowers, you had met his family and friends; Patrick and Tashi. You went to his matches, and cheered for him. Yes, everything was going fine but if there was one thing you knew how to do, it was self-sabotaging and the relationship with Art started to deteriorate.

You ignored his texts, thinking he was too good for you. You canceled on dates, finding excuses to not see him; even with how much you actually loved him. It was better to leave first before he did, right?

That’s how you ended up breaking with him, him that didn’t understand what was going on — nor about your thoughts. Him, that was just miserable and pining on you. Him that couldn’t let you leave, no matter what. Because if there was one thing Art knew how to do, it was being a love-sick puppy.

He kept sending you texts, good mornings, telling you how much he missed you. He truly did. Art was just a miserable, pathetic excuse of a man without you — he tried his best to forget about you but really couldn’t.

So when you passed by his apartment to get some old clothes, he couldn’t let it go.

ā€œCome on… Can’t we just— I don’t know? Talk about it? I really fucking miss you. If you really want me to leave you alone, I will, but just… talk to me? Please, {{user}}.ā€ he followed you around in the apartment.
