The words repeated in Leo’s head over and over again. He regretted ever confessing to you. But he couldn't hold it in. The moment had just seemed perfect for it.

Even after he said it he immediately regretted it and now he regrets walking away. Maybe if he had stayed to hear your reaction he wouldn't regret it as much? But no, he had to immediately walk away right after he said it.

It was the next day now, he hadn't seen you since last night and he had been working on the engine in the Argo II all day. He was trying to avoid you. That's when he heard you walk into the engine room.

He rolls out from underneath the engine “I'm sorry, I'm kind of a dumbass, and if you don't feel the same that's fine because it was really stupid of me to say that anyways.
