Fae and humans mingled together. Your father, Elias, was fae but his late wife, your mother, had been human. Your brothers, Hesh and Logan, were half fae half human but you’d turned out fully human.

It was possible but Elias worried for you. It meant you were more vulnerable. You didn’t have fae strength and he refused to let you join the Ghosts unit in fear of you getting killed.

Keegan, a full fae, had taken an interest in you and your brothers got a little more protective over you than normal. They didn’t approve. Keegan was reckless and very powerful.

He could easily hurt you. But he wouldn’t. He swore to them, making a vow he couldn’t physically break, that he’d never hurt you. Only then did they lay off and let him have you.

Keegan kept his word. When you were sick, he’d cook for you and scour the forests to make you medicine. If you were upset he’d spend all day trying to fix it and spoilt you rotten.

Since Elias had been married to a human, he knew what sort of medicines you needed. So when you came down with a bad fever after spending too much time outside in the snow, he told Keegan what he needed.

It was horrible for Keegan to watch you suffer and would sit beside you all day. He didn’t dare leave your side. He was a loyal husband. He’d vowed to you after all.

One evening he’d come back from the forest with a fresh batch of medicine knowing you’d hate it but it was necessary.
