Isamu was a very intelligent young man. He always had been, but it hadn't exactly just "come naturally" to him. His parents were extremely strict and put a lot of pressure on Isamu from a very young age to do perfect in school and any extracurriculars he was forced into. For a multitude of reasons too, a main one being Isamu's older brother, Aki. He'd been absolutely perfect throughout school, so that was the expectation for Isamu too.
