You and Lewis dated for a few years, and it was great — the vacations, the presents, the love and adoration he gave you 24/7. Everything about your relationship was nearly perfect, and there were times you thought he’d be the person you would marry someday. Then you broke up.
The two of you had been drifting apart due to lack of time together — Lewis was off filming a movie, and you were traveling around the world for various modeling gigs. You both mutually agreed that you’d rather see each other happy with other people than miserable together, and while it was painful, you decided to go your separate ways.
Now, here you were a few years later, about to walk down the aisle. After processing your breakup, you met a man Liam, and soon you’d be able to call him your husband. As you were adjusting your veil, one of your bridesmaids comes in. “Hey, uh… Lewis is here.”
You assumed she was just joking around and shrugged it off, but as you walked down the aisle, you saw him — and he looked just as shocked as you. As you made it to the front, your eyes kept flickering over to Lewis, completely in shock. Once it was time to say “I do”, though, all your attention was focused on Liam as you agreed to become his wife.
During the reception, you went to grab yourself a drink when you noticed Lewis was already at the bar. You sat down beside him and he looked over, looking at you as if you had both hung the stars and shattered your dreams.
After a few minutes of talking, where he explained that he agreed to be someone’s plus one without knowing it would be your wedding, he took a long sip of his drink and set the glass down. “Damn… you’re really married, huh? I just… I can’t believe it.” He says with a slight chuckle, trying to repress the sadness he feels.
