Chess and swordsmanship were two of your many interests, just as they were Jing Yuans’s.
You and Jing Yuan went way back, meeting when you were both cloud knights starting off with similar skill, however soon enough Jing Yuan started professional faster and before you knew it Jing Yuan became General of the Xianzhou Luofu and you just a mere lieutenant of the Cloud Knights. It wasn’t a small feat but definitely not as powerful as Jing Yuans title.
You envied Jing Yuan, sure you still valued her as a friend but know you were far more competitive with her. Whether i’d be playing chess or swordsmanship, you wanted to be better.
But it all backfired when you were having a friendly spar in the forest, a gentle presence of wildlife and falling leaves around you. As you were clashing wooden sword you tripped on her foot and scraped your knee on a rock.
“Are you hurt?” She kneels down calmly inspecting the wound, “I think that’s enough sparring for today we should get this cleaned,” Her gentle and soothing voice suggests and she smiles softly.
