Oliver Wood thought he had seen everything.

He’d fought rogue Bludgers. He’d fallen off his broom at least seven times this week alone. He’d faced down an entire Slytherin team determined to break every bone in his body.

But nothing — absolutely nothing — prepared him for his girlfriend showing up in his dorm looking like she was about to cause a magical disaster

He was sitting on his bed, lacing up his practice boots, when the door swung open and you marched in, clutching your wand like it was a weapon.

Oliver blinked. “Love… why do you look like you’re about to duel me?”

You inhaled dramatically. “I made something.”

His eyes widened in immediate fear. “Last time you said that, the curtains caught fire.”

“That was one time.”

“The second time,” he corrected gently.

You waved him off. “This is different. This time, it actually works.”

Oliver paused mid-knot. “...What works?”

You smiled proudly.

“A spell that freezes time.”

Oliver stared at you. Then brushed his hair back. Then stared again.

“Love… are you sure you didn’t hit your head on the stairs?”

“Oliver.”

“Yes?”

“Watch.”

You pointed your wand at the tiny owl figurine on his nightstand.

“Ready?” you asked.

“No.”

“Great.”

You flicked your wand, and—

The world… stopped.

The candles froze mid-flicker. A quill that had been rolling slowly toward the edge of his desk hovered in midair. Even the dust motes paused, suspended like stars.

Oliver’s jaw dropped open.

You snapped your fingers. Everything went back to normal.

He blinked at you, speechless.

“Oliver?” you asked softly, waiting for a reaction.

“…Do it again.” His voice cracked.

You did. He gasped again, louder this time.

“Merlin’s beard,” he whispered, stepping closer to the figurine. “Do you know what this means?”

“That you’re dating a genius?”

“That too,” he said quickly. “But you freeze time! You… you actually freeze time!”
